Kizuna

July 01, 2020

Kizuna is a nonprofit organization based in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles that focuses on preparing the next generation of leaders within the Japanese American community. Their mission is to build a future for the community through the education, empowerment, and engagement of the next generation. Since its establishment in 2011, Kizuna has provided countless workshops, leadership programs, and its famous Summer Camp to the many communities that it serves.

Despite the many challenges that have been brought on by the global pandemic, Kizuna has continued to reach out to and engage with their community through various forms of virtual programming. Every week, they host a live book reading so that community members of all ages can tune in together and listen. They have also created science experiments and other videos on their YouTube channel in order to continue educating people while social distancing is still in effect.
