Transpacific Borderlands: The Art of Japanese Diaspora in Lima, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo

The Japanese American National Museum’s newest exhibition, Transpacific Borderlands: The Art of Japanese Diaspora in Lima, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo, is making its debut this Sunday (September 17th, 2017). The exhibit features experiences of artists of Japanese ancestry born, raised, or living in either Latin America or predominantly Latin American neighborhoods of Southern California. The exhibit will focus on four regions: the United States, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil because these countries experienced the most significant numbers of Japanese immigrants due to a need for labor.
