One of the most integral parts of Little Tokyo today is the food. People from all around come to try the best Japanese food that Los Angeles has to offer, one of the most popular foods being ramen. Throughout Little Tokyo’s history there have been a number of ramen shops and the newest one in town is Ramen Revolution!.
Recently, we had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Jason Easton. Jason is a 2nd generation Japanese American and is also the owner of his own construction company. He came upon the ramen industry when his wife introduced him to Minoru Tanaka, CEO of Manichi Group. The Manichi Group is a Japanese company which manages and operates many ramen shops. With over 20 ramen noodles shops around Asia, the Manichi Group is expanding its restaurants to the United States, like the one Jason is opening in Little Tokyo.
When we spoke with Jason, it was clear that his wife was a powerful inspiration to him. He described her as being a mother, business partner, and his cornerstone. Along with his wife, he also has two children, a 5-year old daughter and 3-year old son. Jason hopes to instill a sense of both Japanese and American culture into his children.
Jason’s dream is to share authentic Japanese ramen with the world. He is already in the process of opening another ramen shop in the Del Amo fashion center in Torrance. So if you’re looking to try some great ramen, check out Ramen Revolution! in Little Tokyo on 1st Street!
