California Auto Insurance and Optional Coverages

Having California Auto Insurance is a necessity, but your policy may not cover everything that you need.  For example, if you’ve installed audio, visual and/or other customized equipment in your vehicle, you can add an additional line of coverage to help protect that equipment.

Here’s what a standard auto policy covers:

  • Collision
  • Comprehensive
  • Liability
  • Medical/Personal Injury Protection
  • Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist Protection

If you have an auto policy with Safeco Insurance, here are some of the additional coverage options that can be added to your current policy:

Audio, Visual & Customized Equipment
– covers permanent/customized equipment installed in your vehicle at limits you select (up to $5,000).

Loan & Lease Coverage
– helps to pay for the difference between the unpaid amount due on the loan/lease and the actual cash value of the vehicle.

New Vehicle Replacement Coverage – in the event of a total loss, this coverage helps to pay for the full purchase price of a new vehicle in the first year of ownership.

Original Parts Replacement (OEM)
– extends comprehensive and collision coverage to help repair or replace damaged property with original equipment manufactured (OEM) parts, in the event of a covered loss.

Rental Car (“Loss of Use”)
– helps to cover expenses of a rental car, while your vehicle is being repaired after a claim.

Roadside Assistance – helps you to pay “reasonable” towing charges if your vehicle is disabled.
