It is the mission of The J. Morey Company, Inc. and its related companies to meet the needs of our customers to the best of our ability. To offer our best efforts in providing products and services that are of the highest quality. To evaluate and present a comprehensive insurance program that meets the current needs of our customers. To seek and present the most competitively priced product available for our distribution. To strive and place insurance coverage with stable and secure insurance companies.

John, Jack and James Morey founded The J. Morey Company, Inc. in 1980. For 31 years it has been a family operation. It began in a single office in the city of Cerritos with five employees (including three principals) writing personal, commercial property and casualty insurance. Today the Company and its related companies currently employ 34 staff members. An additional 7 independent producers are exclusively contracted with the Company. The Company and its related companies are currently licensed to conduct insurance business in 20 States.

With four insurance carrier appointments in 1980s, the Company has greatly expanded its carrier representation to meet the multiple demands and diverse variety of business operations and personal exposures it currently represents.

The Company focus of expansion began in 1982 with the acquisition of the oldest existing Japanese American insurance brokerage in California (The Hirohata Insurance Agency). Since 1982 the Company expansion included the acquisition of 2 additional independent agencies in Southern California.

In 1984 the Company realizing the potential for growth, expanded it operations to Northern California, opening an office in the city of San Mateo. Shortly after, the Company moved to San Jose after purchasing The Mineta Insurance Agency. Since that time the Company has steadily grown in size and visibility. The acquisition of 3 additional independent agencies between 1985 and 1997 has steadily increased the volume of business and enhanced the growth of the Company in Northern California.

In 1995 the Company introduced a separate wholesale insurance operation (Arrowood Insurance Services), to offer retail insurance brokers custom designed niche programs in the Japanese and Japanese American Community. In addition, the wholesale brokerage provides approved sub-producing retail brokers access to specific preferred market insurance carriers. The operation is currently located in Huntington Beach, California.

In 1998 the Company recognizing the need to establish a presence in the tri-states area, associated with a well-established independent insurance broker in New York City. The intent was to service the east coast operations of the Company's existing client base. In early 2000 (with the down turn in many business operations and the withdrawal from multi national locations), the need to service operational locations out of state was no longer an issue of concern. The Company continue to maintain an association in New York City on an as need basis.

In 2001 the Company departmentalized its operation, allowing each profit center (commercial and personal property, casualty and life) to develop separate goals that would contribute to the overall success of the Company's mission statement and to direct specific resources to those areas of service and growth that best serves the client's needs.

In 2003, recognizing the need for continued upgrades in the quality of service and the need to emphasis communication, the Company introduced a new and separate organization, completely dedicated to clients communicating in Japanese language and script. A full service staff, trained in personal and commercial property, casualty, life, health and human benefits, would service the Japanese and Japanese bilingual community. Certainly, not a new idea, but an idea that fulfilled a need. This organization currently operates as a separate entity, doing business as "Nakazawa Insurance Services."

In late 2004, the Company seeking to provide its clients with a full array of insurance products began to market health, life and long term care coverage. In previous years these products were offered as an accommodation to the property and liability package. A fully staffed department of skilled and trained personnel was employed to address the specific human benefit needs of all clients. An aggressive marketing campaign was established to meet several goals. Enjoying a very positive response, the department grew well beyond its first year objectives. With new marketing strategies that explored diversification and participation in the wholesale and specialty products markets, the department was reorganized and introduced as a separate and independent entity of The J. Morey Company. MI Insurance Services, Inc. was established in 2006 to participate in these new avenues of business development. It currently services several independent brokers as a Wholesale General Agency and out-sources retail services to independent brokers seeking assistance and support in marketing health, life and long term care insurance products to their existing property and casualty commercial and personal insurance clients.

In late 2005, with the success of Nakazawa Insurance Services, the Company embarked on phase two of the quality service and communication model. LatinaAgencia Servicios de Seguros opened in the City of Bellflower, CA as a community based retail agency and brokerage. Its focus was the Spanish speaking business owner and the personal insurance needs of the Spanish speaking community. The marketing strategy was to utilize a carrier referral generator and lead canvassing programs as its principal vehicle of solicitation and new business development. As the client base continued to grow, the addition of client referrals followed. Over the past several years, the Company has gained "brand" recognition in the Spanish speaking community. With this success, it established a second location in the City of Anaheim in 2009. It anticipates the introduction of additional community based retail locations in 2009 and 2010.

The Company continues to develop new products and services that will meet the ever changing needs of their existing customer base. The Company is also aggressively seeking to discover innovative marketing concepts that can introduce new customers to its expanding array of products and services. Acquisitions of existing professional agencies and brokerages are a priority consideration. The development of strategic partnerships and business alliances continue to be explored. The expansion of the language base service units are moving forward towards establishment of multiple locations in 2009. The introduction of new products and services for the wholesale and general agency operations are also scheduled for release in 2009.

Today, the Company's full efforts are directly towards its clients' needs. The highest priority of the J. Morey Company, Inc. and its associates remains the commitment to service, professionalism, expertise, communication and product quality. The Company believes in providing the tools, personnel and support to its operations in order to achieve the highest level of service.
