Don’t Text & Drive: Safe Driving Tips & California Auto Insurance
Did you know that texting/talking on a hand-held cell phone while driving is banned in California? If you’re driving, you should be focused on the road and not your cell phone. These days having a phone is a necessity, but that doesn’t mean you should forget about your safety and the safety of others around you. If you really stop and think about it, every time you use your cell phone while driving (either to text or talk), you put yourself and others in danger. So, the next time you’re driving and your cell phone rings or someone sends you a text – let it go. Make the pledge today to help make our roads safer, by NOT texting/talking while driving!

Safe Driving Tips
- If you’re driving – make sure you’re protected with our California Auto Insurance. A standard auto policy with one of our carriers can offer the following types of coverage: Collision, Comprehensive, Liability, Medical/Personal Injury Protection and Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist Protection. Having this type of coverage helps protect you and/or your passengers in the event of an auto accident.
- If you have a teen driver in your household, make sure they know that texting while driving is one of the leading causes of accidents for young drivers. It should never be okay to text and drive.
- If you have an emergency and you need to use your phone – safely pull over to the side of the road (if you’re on the freeway) or pull into a parking lot.
- If you’re running late for something, be sure to call/text BEFORE you start driving.
- Remember NOT to text & drive! – studies have shown that texting while driving slows your reaction time, almost to the point of driving while intoxicated.
